Fishing and hunting Lodge

Situated on the south margin of the Filo Hua Hum River, deep inside the Lanín National Park, this ranch belongs to the Fernandez Beschtedt family and they will be your hosts during your stay here. It is the perfect place to hide from civilization.

This amazing place is family a managed lodge, operated by one of the oldest families in the area (more than 120 years).

Dedicated to cattle, sheep and horse breeding this property extends over 77.000 acres. It is surrounded by three lakes; Lago Falkner, Lago Nuevo and Lago Filo Hua Hum and all of the Filo Hua Hum Oeste river flows through their land, from Lago Nuevo to Lago Filo Hua Hum, this is over 10 miles of pristine trophy trout water.

The main house, now totally renovated, shows the way the settlers lived in this secluded place. Two rustic wooden cabins create the 4 double occupancy rooms that can lodge up to 8 guests. They have a firewood operated hot tub with a superb view of the whole valley.

Food + Drink

Breakfast is normally served at the dining room between 8:30-9:00 a.m.
It normally includes homemade marmalades, bread and cooked to order eggs and bacon. Tea, coffee and mate are always available. Upon request fruits and yoghurt can be added.

Lunch is usually served at the lodge around 1:30/2:00pm, but there is also the option to request a picnic and stay on the river, this needs to be decided the night before. Lunches normally consist of a starter dish, followed by a main course with meat (beef or chicken) with a few sides and dessert afterwards. Outside Asados, will normally be held once during your trip Tea or coffee if requested.

Dinner Dinner is normally served after drinks and cocktails, usually around 9:00-9:30p.m. Earlier dinner times can be arranged.
All meals are home-made and prepared by one of the family members.
Dinner normally consists on regional and local dishes, with different meats and a variety of salads, vegetables or home-made pasta.

Soft drinks, beers, flavored water and mineral water are at your disposal at all times. Hot drinks like tea, chocolate or coffee can be requested as well.
Cocktail time at the bar is normally around 8:30 pm., you will find a regular selection of local wine, gin, whisky, vodka and other spirits.

River Access

Filo Hua Hum river starts slow and deep running through lots of big boulders in the riverbed that gives the trout a good hiding place. It then it quickens with wide and easy to wade pools. After this comes a canyon with great spots to sight fish for trophy specimens and ending in a wide river with lots of shore vegetation that produces a good amount of food for the fish. The riverbed is light-colored making it an ideal river to sight fish.

Caleufu River begins with the merger of the Filo Hua Hum and Meliquina rivers. Crystal-clear fast-moving water rushes through some great rock formation. Rapidly turning into a medium gradient freestone with the perfect bottom for easy wading. Running through amazing scenarios and filled with fish this river is great at the beginning of the season.

If necessary, the surrounding lakes can be floated. Only Falkner Lake can be fished from a motorboat, we use driftboats on the others. Fishing these lakes can prove amazingly great during dragonfly and terrestrial’s time.
