The Chimehuín River begins at Huechulafquen Lake, world-famous as the "Boca (Mouth) of the Chimehuín." This is where Argentina's record brown trout was caught, weighing in at 25.5 lbs. We generally fish this river from the Estancia Tipiliuke, a five star fishing lodge that offers many activities for non fishermen also. This is great for people who love wading above floating.
There are also many stretches of river outside the Estancia that we can float while staying in a nice hosteria in San Martin de los Andes. The river fishes very well for trout with every technique, dry fly fishing, nymphing or using streamers.
